Non-profit organizations gathered with thousands of area farm workers over the weekend in San Luis, Arizona’s Friendship Park for the 19th Annual Dia del Campesino, health and human service fair.
Saturday starting at 3 a.m. farm workers, most had just crossed the border at the San Luis Port-Of-Entry, got their flu shots, screenings, a hot breakfast, and information about services before being bussed to work in area agriculture. Organizers also informed participants about pesticide contamination and answered questions about immigration.
