Dr. Jim Carruthers is a former Arizona state legislator who enjoyed a long career at Arizona Western College, including 14 years as President. His relationship with the school began when he was still working at Yuma’s Kofa High School.
The legacy of Dr. Carruthers' years as AWC president is an institution-wide commitment to the development of a collaborative life-long learning community in Yuma.
