Photo Gallery: 'Girls Take Over' Recycled Fashion Show in San Luis

Jul 29, 2019

Paper plates, magazine covers, Loteria cards, compact discs and a bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos were just some of the materials used on clothing during a recycled fashion show in San Luis.

The Chicano Art Collective, a group of Latinx artists from throughout Yuma County, hosted the Girls Take Over on July 26 featuring clothing from artists from San Luis, San Luis Rio Colorado and Wellton.

The fashion show was held in front of the Rolls & Bowls Asian restaurant, which regularly hosts local bands and art shows. Feromona, an all-female rock band from Mexicali, performed into the evening.
