Yuma County Indivisible: Impeach Trump

Oct 3, 2019

A group of Yuma County residents gathered Thursday afternoon to call for President Donald Trump’s impeachment, part of a national grassroots movement.

Members of the Yuma County Indivisible group gathered on a warm afternoon in Yuma calling for the impeachment of President Trump. They held signs saying “Trump For Prison 2020” and “Save America: Impeach Trump.”

“I believe that we have a pathological liar and probably an unstable person currently occupying the presidency of the United States and the Oval Office," said Fred Brown, the treasurer for Yuma County Indivisible.

Facilitator Liz Haskell told KAWC the Yuma County Indivisible group is taking to the streets, joining Indivisible groups in Phoenix and around the country in calling for Trump to be held accountable for many wrongdoings. On Wednesday, House Democrats defended their impeachment inquiry into the president.

“We’re taking to the streets kind of publicly to let (Congress) know we here in Yuma believe that this president is committing crimes and is a threat to our national security and a threat to our democracy," Haskell said.

Organizers said they hope to meet weekly with their signs while the impeachment inquiry continues.
