With four days until Election Day, Yuma County leaders said it’s not too late to turn in your ballot. Just not by mail.
Ballots will likely not make it to county elections officials if placed in the mail. But there are eight early ballot drop box locations in Yuma, Somerton, San Luis and Wellton that can be used to make sure your vote is counted.
“People are excited," said Yuma County Supervisor Tony Reyes. "Yuma County sent out about 80,000 ballots. Within three days, we received about 20,000 back. That's almost unheard of.”
Reyes spoke in support of Joe Biden for President. He was joined by state Representative Charlene Fernandez and Dr. Henry Florez of Yuma.
Julian Castro, a former U.S. Housing Secretary and Democratic presidential candidate, will be in the Phoenix area Sunday afternoon to support the Biden campaign.
On Sunday night, Republican U.S. Sen. Martha McSally will be in Yuma as will Donald Trump Jr. for a rally at the Yuma County Fairgrounds.
McSally's opponent Democratic candidate Mark Kelly will be holding events in the Phoenix area Saturday and Sunday.
