Kyara Lardin was crowned Miss Southwest on Thursday evening in San Luis.
Lardin, 19, is a student at Arizona Western College. She was selected from five contestants in the scholarship pageant and gets a $1,000 scholarship award.
Kimberly Lopez Marquez was named runner-up and Jackie Perez Arce was named second runner-up at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center.
The other contestants were Viviann Gurrola and Fernanda Medina.
Lardin will represent San Luis at public events in the next year, including Saturday’s Founder’s Day Parade and Celebration.
