Yuma County Area Transit

Starting Aug. 17 all students at Arizona Western College can use Yuma County Area Transit (YCAT) bus services for free without a YCAT sticker for a limited time.

YCAT stickers will be available to board the bus when it resumes charging bus fares, however that date has not been determined yet.

The Silver Route is free of charge and will run on its regular schedule. All other routes will be on a reduced schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For more than half of the students at Arizona Western College, walking across the stage at college graduation would have been a first for them and their families.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, graduation this year is unlike any other but it will be special and a wonderful way to celebrate the accomplishment of students, Arizona Western College President Dr. Daniel Corr said before the college's virtual graduation Friday night.

Friday is Arizona Western College’s commencement day. But instead of a packed stadium at Gila Ridge High School cheering on graduates in their maroon caps and gowns, this year’s ceremony will be celebrated virtually, with graduates watching a livestream at home with loved ones.
