Arizona Governor Doug Ducey Appointed San Luis Police Chief Richard Jessup to the Commission to Prevent Violence Against Women.
Chief Jessup, has been the chief for the last four years and was also requested to serve on the Governor's Human Trafficking Taskforce. Which he accepted.
The appointment to prevent violence against women is given to recognize outstanding citizens by naming them to positions of leadership with the Arizona state government.
It was finalized in Feb. after Chief Jessup signed the Loyalty Oath.
This isn't the first time the chief has been appointed to a leadership role.
During his tenure, he has been appointed to the Selected Council of Progressive Enforcement (S.C.O.P.E.), President in Yuma County, Executive Board member of Amberly's Place, and the local Yuma County domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault advocacy center.
