Three Cibola High School seniors have been selected for a nationally recognized college matching program.
Cibola High School seniors Kenia Zepeda Carrillo, Manuel Acosta and Julia Canez were named as finalists for the Questbridge Scholarship Program.
The Questbridge Scholarship Program is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that connects top students with opportunities at top colleges. In their senior year, high-achieving high school seniors can apply for the National College Match, an admissions process that connects top students with admissions and full four-year scholarships or generous financial aid at Questbridge’s college partners.
"I feel very fortunate and overjoyed," Canez said. "I am proud to have taken advantage of the amazing opportunity Questbridge provides each year. I hope to match with Yale University and be able to attend in the fall once I graduate from Cibola."
Students admitted to a college partner through the National College Match become Questbridge Scholars, and join a community of more than 7,000 scholars on college partner campuses. The Questbridge Scholars Network provides them with access to further academic, professional, leadership and social opportunities.
Last year, Yuma Union High School District had students from San Luis High School match with Stanford and Dartmouth, among others, through the Questbridge program.
