Due to the health protection protocols put into place because of COVID-19, there will be no public Holy Week services in Catholic churches throughout the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson, which includes Yuma and La Paz counties.

Diocesan officials announced services will be livestreamed on Bishop Edward Weisenburger’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/diocesetucson.org.

Services include this weekend’s Passion or “Palm” Sunday at 10 a.m. and a Good Friday Liturgy on April 10 at 3 p.m.

Easter Sunday on April 12 will offer a 9 a.m. Mass in English. A bilingual Easter Sunday Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Gilbert Malu, the Rector of St. Augustine Cathedral in Tucson, presiding.

Parishioners also are encouraged to check with their local church in Yuma, Somerton, San Luis, Wellton or Parker to determine what online services will be available to them from their proper parish during Holy Week.
