Yuma Mayor Doug Nicholls is in Washington, D.C. this week.

The mayor's office tells KAWC Mayor Nicholls is making a “quick trip to discuss immigration and border issues from Yuma’s perspective.” Nicholls will also meet officials at the Department of Transporation to discuss infrastructure projects and potential funding for Yuma-specific projects.

The mayor will also meet with U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar to talk about City of Yuma legislative priorities, including discussion of federal funding for the National Heritage Area Program.

The mayor tweeted that he was “traveling again” as he left Yuma on Tuesday.
