San Luis Breaks Ground on a New Water Line

Michelle Faust

The City of San Luis broke ground Wednesday on a new potable water transmission line.  The 1-point-5 mile, 16-inch pipeline will connect the water system from west San Luis to the newer system in east San Luis.  The approximately 600-thousand dollar project is partially funded by 500-thousand dollars from the American Development Bank and the Border Environment Cooperation Commission.  The remainder of the funding will come from the city’s general fund.

The city says this will improve water pressure and eliminate back flows in the water provided to more than 5,400 residential and commercial customers.
