Arizona Edition - You’d be forgiven if you thought apprehending illegal border-crossers in the Yuma Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol along the U.S.-Mexico border is primarily a desert operation. As you’ll hear in a moment, that is a big part of it, but the Colorado River for some immigrants seems a faster, and perhaps cooler, option for sneaking into the U.S., especially in the summer. But the Border Patrol says the river can be deadly, so they train for every possibility. KAWC’s Stephanie Sanchez reports…(originally aired 06/25/14).
