BLM Seeks Nominations For Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board

Anyone looking to run for the National Wild Horse and Burro Adviso`Bureau of Land Management announced Sept. 17 that it is seeking to fill three positions.

The board is responsible for advising the BLM and the U.S. Forest Service on the protection and management of wild-free roaming horses and burros on public lands overseen by agencies.

Anyone can make nominations to serve on the board or nominate themselves. However, State and Federal employees cannot.

The board meets twice a year unless the BLM calls for additional meetings necessary.

Members serve three-year terms without salary, although members are reimbursed for approved travel and per diem expenses related to their activities on the board.

The board is made up of nine members.
