How Food Could Help Combat COVID-19, Dietitian says

Yuma Regional Medical Center

As medical professionals work towards a treatment for COVID-19 there are many proactive measures to avoid getting the virus.

Although hand washing and social distancing can help, so can your diet, according to Tara Lovinger, a registered dietitian at Yuma Regional Medical Center.

There is no magic food to heal you but there are foods that you can add to your diet that would help you and your family get and stay healthy, Lovinger said.

KAWC's Lou Gum sat down with Tara Lovinger as she explains how food could help combat symptoms from COVID-19.

Lou grew up in Tucson and has a long family history in the state of Arizona. He began his public radio career in 1988 at KNAU in Flagstaff as a classical music DJ and has been hooked on public radio since, transitioning to news after trying his hand at several other careers in publishing and commercial broadcasting. Lou has a degree in American Studies from Arizona State University and was KAWC's Morning Edition host for two and half years before becoming News and Operations Director.
