Free Parenting Classes Being Offered

Crane Schools
Free Parenting Classes

Being a parent is a role that can bring tremendous joy and happiness to anyone. Yet, it can also be extremely challenging.

That is why the Crane School District's Great Beginning Preschool is teaming up with Arizona’s Children Association to offer free parenting classes.

The classes will be happening over the course of four Tuesdays starting today (Oct. 22), and then again on Oct. 29, Nov. 5 and 12.

The classes will be held at Great Beginnings Preschool located on 930 S. Avenue C in Yuma between 6:oo p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Attendees should head to room 203.

They're meant, ideally, for parents and caregivers of children between birth age and five-years-old.

The sessions will teach parents how to raise their children with just the right combination of freedom and discipline.

They will also touch on a child's development and growing brain, preventing tantrums and other problems, using mindfulness to keep calm as well as the six pointers on how to prepare a child for success at school.

Free childcare will be provided but spaces are limited. Registration is also required for the parenting classes. To register, contact Diana Gonzalez at (928) 287-5191. Those interested can also email her at dianagonzalez@arizonaschildren.org.
