Sen. McSally Proposes Bill to Halt Senator's Pay if No Relief Bill is Passed

Office of U.S. Senator Martha McSally

While lawmakers on Capitol Hill have yet to pass a relief and support package in response to the Coronavirus, U.S. Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) is proposing legislation that would halt pay for lawmakers until a bill is passed.

“If Americans aren’t getting paid, then neither should the Senators failing to support the workers and families who need help making ends meet,” U.S. Senator Martha McSally Said.

This comes as the Senate considers a "Phase 3" Coronavirus Aid Bill today.

In McSally's proposed bill, lawmakers would have until today, March 24th to establish a relief and support package before pay would be suspended.

The bill still has to go in front of the Senate for a vote.
