Cibola Student Accepted Into Cesar Chavez Leadership Institute at ASU

Cibola High School junior Gladys Herrera was recently accepted into the Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Institute at Arizona State University, which takes place June 2-8.

"I’m extremely grateful to have such amazing teachers and parents who advise and support me," Herrera said.  "I’m so excited to attend CCLP this summer! I’m positive this will be a great experience and a huge opportunity since I plan to attend ASU."

According to the website, the César E. Chávez Leadership Institute seeks to improve access to higher education for Arizona high school sophomores and juniors by providing, at no cost to students, a variety of enriching experiences emphasizing leadership development and civic engagement, while advocating for the completion of high school, attending college and educational opportunities at Arizona State University. Since 1995 more than 1,300 students have benefited from participating in the program.
