Cibola HS Spiritline Gives Back to the Community with Cheer Buddies Event

YUHSD
The Cibola High School Spiritline held their annual Cheer Buddies Clinic on Sept. 14

The Cibola High School Spiritline held their annual Cheer Buddies Clinic on Sept. 14.  Approximately 50 cheer buddies participated in the event, which was led by the Raiders’ varsity and junior varsity spirtline teams.

Buddies learned the importance of good nutrition, hydration and safety, which is a priority when it comes to cheerleading. They also worked in centers: tumbling, cheers and chants, dance routine and stunting. The buddy groups were led through the centers and at the completion of the clinic they were able to perform their cheers and dance to the parents and guardians in attendance.

“Part of being a Raiders Spiritline member is to uphold the school name and give back to the community,” Cibola Spiritline coach Tayde Lund said. “Helping others and being kind is a priority and I want the cheerleaders to be a great reflection of what Cibola High School likes to instill in their students and athletes.”

The school mascot, Mr. Raider, made a special appearance. To all the children's delight, they were excited and took the opportunity to take pictures with the mascot and spiritline members.

The Cibola Cheer Buddies will perform their cheers and dance routine during the halftime of the varsity football game on Friday versus Brawley High School. The game kicks off at 7 p.m.

Cheer Buddy clinics are held twice annually, once during football season and once during basketball season.
