Yuma Police Department officials announced that police arrested a male teacher at Yuma Catholic High School after he allegedly made inappropriate comments to a female student.
Yuma Police said Craig Gillespie, 59, solicited a female student to engage in sex.
YPD’s Child, Family and Sex Crimes Unit investigated the allegations.
On Wednesday, Gillespie was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center on one count of Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation and on one count of Furnishing Harmful Items to Minors.
An online search of Gillespie found that he served as a track and field coach as well as a girls soccer coach for the Shamrocks.
