Yuma City Council Bids Farewell to 4 Council Members

Yuma City Council adjourned the year Wednesday.  The meeting was the last for Mayor Al Krieger and three council members -- Bobbie Lewis, Jerry Stuart and Paul Johnson.  Next month, Mayor Elect Douglas Nichols and Councilmen Elect Gary Knight, Gary Wright and William Craft take their seats on the council.

At Wednesday’s Yuma City Council meeting, the council approved the issuance of hospital revenue bonds for the Yuma Regional Medical Center through the city’s Industrial Development Authority.  The council continued possible action on changing the city’s utility billing cycle from two months to one month until the February 19th council session.  After nearly two hours of debate, the council defeated a rezoning request to build approximately 150 homes on about 47 acres of land in northwest Yuma on a three to three tie vote.
