Douglas Nicholls took the oath of office as Yuma Mayor Saturday, January 4th at a ceremony at the Historic Yuma Theatre. Nicholls quoted both Martin Luther King and Theodore Roosevelt in his speech that night. The local business owner and former board member of the Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation says he's just getting to used to the title and its duties.
A few days after the ceremony, Mayor Nicholls joined KAWC's Michelle Faust in the studio to talk in more detail about his plans in the job and how he’s prepared himself so far.
