Apply for or renew your passport at fair in Somerton Oct. 27

Jenny Kane/AP

If you live in Yuma County and need to apply for a passport for the first time, there is an opportunity coming up at the end of this month.

A passport fair is scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Somerton City Hall from 3 to 6 p.m.

At the fair, you can also renew a passport as an individual or apply or renew for your family.

Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva's office announced the passport fair though you don't have to live in her district. It is something being offered throughout southern Arizona.

"When we had it in Tucson, we had more than 400 people," Grijalva said. "We ask that you register so that cuts down on your wait time and expedites your application."

You're invited to visit Congresswoman Grijalva's website to register for the passport fair. There is no cost. Regular passport fees apply.
