The National Junior College Athletic Association, of which Arizona Western College in Yuma is a member, today announced the cancellation of all spring sports, as well as winter championships.
The decision, in alignment with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, or NCAA, also discontinues recruiting until April 15, and covers the eight week limit on social gatherings as suggested by the Centers for Disease Control.
Spring athletes, including AWC Matador Baseball and Softball players will not be charged for a year of eligibility and maintain the athletic status upon which they entered 2020.
More information in regards to each school’s capacity for Letters of Intent will be released at a later date.
