The Yuma County Fair announced Wednesday it is canceled as the county continues its efforts to limit the spread of any potential cases of coronavirus.
The fair plans to issue refunds for anyone who purchased pre-sale ride ticket books or keep them for the 2021 year where they can be redeemed.
The date for when tickets can be refunded has yet to be determined
"We understand that this is not the outcome many wanted but the Yuma County Fair Inc. has and always will maintain that the health and safety of the Yuma community is our main priority, especially in pressing times such as these," Said in a statement on behalf of the Yuma County Fair.
The Junior Livestock Committee along with local 4-H and FFA is working with the Center for Disease Control on recommendations for exhibitors auctioning all livestock.
