The Gila Ridge High School cheerleaders and the Cheering Hawks Booster Club are hosting the ‘Lil Hawks Cheer Clinic’ Oct. 16-18 from 6-8 p.m.
Children ages 5 to 14 will get instruction from the current members of the Hawks cheer team and coaching staff and the event will culminate with a halftime show performance for the youngsters during the varsity football game Oct. 18 against Youngker High School.
“Participants will learn skills needed for stunting and tumbling as well a sideline cheers and a dance routine that will be showcased for friends and family to enjoy,” GRHS cheer coach Sarah Dains said.
Each participant will also receive a Pink Awareness Cheer shirt. The cost of the ‘Lil Hawks Cheer Clinic’ is $30 with proceeds going to support the cheer team in purchasing new tumbling equipment and paying for competition entry fees.
