Senate Candidate Mark Kelly Says Listen to the Science

Congress passed a $2 trillion dollar emergency coronavirus relief bill and President Donald Trump signed it on Friday.

The legislation has bipartisan support but the proof of its effectiveness will play out in the weeks ahead.

KAWC spoke with Mark Kelly, Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Arizona Friday, just before the House passed the fianl version of the bill to send to President Trump.  Kelly says besides the support and equipment the legislation should filter to American hospitals, he hopes it will provide enough help to make a difference in the lives of people who've lost their livelihoods.

Mr. Kelly also spoke about the need to listen to the experts and follow the science when crafting both public policy and personal strategies in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

We spoke to Mr. Kelly by phone.

Mark Kelly is looking to replace Republican Sen. Martha McSally, who was appointed to the Senate following the death of Sen. John McCain in August of 2018.
