This year’s event will include teaching elementary school students to plant with biodegradable pots, interactive displays from local organizations, and other environmental demonstrations. Travis Mitchell is the Arizona Western College Sustainability Council Co-Chair. He said he hopes the event will bring awareness to various sustainable practices.
“A lot of the people that come from off-campus—the elementary school students and even the AWC students—always seem to have a really good time at it," Mitchell said. "So, you know, we enjoy seeing people enjoy learning about these things that they can be doing."
The event takes place from 9AM to 1PM on Thursday the 13th outside the LR building on the Arizona Western College campus.
