Lane Restrictions Scheduled on Interstate 8 in Yuma

Lou Gum
Lane restrictions sheduled for Interstate 8.

A series of lane restrictions will be coming to Interstate 8 in Yuma beginning Monday, Nov. 18. This means drivers should expect heavy delays and allow extra travel time.

Maintenance crews will be repaving a crack on the road as part of a statewide pavement project.

The lane restrictions will happen Monday through Friday in Yuma from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning Monday, Nov. 18, and ending Friday, Dec. 20.

This means eastbound Interstate 8 will be narrowed down to one lane between Giss Parkway (Exit 1) and Ligurta (milepost 21).

Drivers should also be ready for a 5-mile lane restriction while crews progress through the work zone.

A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will also be in place.

An exception will be made during the Thanksgiving holiday beginning Monday, Nov. 25, through Friday, Nov. 29, when the restrictions will be lifted.
