Arizona Western College: 50th Anniversary, Women's Soccer, and Border Patrol Relations

On Western Voice Radio, we take a look at Arizona Western College's upcoming 5oth Anniversary celebrations as KAWC's Lou Gum speaks with Dean of Instruction Linda Elliott-Nelson.  We hear from former students and faculty about how the college has changed through the years.

Western Voice Radio - Two new fulltime Arizona Western College faculty members talk about their roots and what it's like being women in the STEM fields.  Also, KAWC's Maya Springhawk Robnett visits the first home game for the long-awaited AWC Women's Soccer team and facilities management talks about how the recent monsoon weather has effected the AWC campus.

Lou grew up in Tucson and has a long family history in the state of Arizona. He began his public radio career in 1988 at KNAU in Flagstaff as a classical music DJ and has been hooked on public radio since, transitioning to news after trying his hand at several other careers in publishing and commercial broadcasting. Lou has a degree in American Studies from Arizona State University and was KAWC's Morning Edition host for two and half years before becoming News and Operations Director.
