Arizona Western College President Dr. Daniel Corr announced the college will hold a virtual commencement ceremony on May 15.

The graduation ceremony, which is typically held in the football stadium at Gila Ridge High School, will be held at 7 p.m. It can be viewed on AWC's Facebook page or through AWC TV.

In this week’s AWC livestream, a panel of four students spoke about how they are handling the college's transition to online classes and missing the traditional graduation ceremony.

Blanca Soto is an honors student.

“Like any other student, I would have loved to have walked across the stage," Soto said. "I’m really glad that AWC is going out of their way to make students feel like… ‘here’s a little celebration for you.’”

Dr. Corr said graduates who RSVP will receive a cap and tassel. Gowns will not be available.

2020 graduates are invited to participate in the graduation ceremony in May 2021.

Registration for the online summer session is now available.
