Raising Minimum Wage

Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) has joined a coalition of lawmakers in introducing the Raise the Wage Act, legislation aimed at gradually increasing the federal minimum wage to $17 per hour over five years.

The state's minimum wage rises another 35 cents in January to $14.70 an hour.

The Arizona Restaurant Association is trying to block a public vote on a ballot measure that could raise the state's minimum wage in two years to $17 an hour or more.
