School Enrollment

During an interview with KAWC, Dr. Corr announced that AWC won't be increasing property taxes despite federal funding uncertainties and initial projections that it'd be needed.

The board may change boundaries elsewhere, but long-term plans may include building new classrooms, a new school and converting two others into a K-8 magnet school if a 2026 bond measure passes.

Desert Mesa Elementary and Castle Dome Middle School have hit enrollment capacity. As housing trends indicate more growth in east Yuma County, lack of funds is the mother of District One's invention.
