Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Fallen Peoria Soldier

The Daily Courier
Flags have been ordered at half-staff at all government buildings from sunrise to sunset.

Flags at all state buildings in Arizona will be at half-staff till sunset today (Oct. 22).

That's because the state will be honoring fallen U.S. Army Private First Class Antonio Garcia from Peoria, Arizona, who was killed Sunday morning during a training accident at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

"Arizona mourns the tragic loss of Private First Class Antonio Garcia," said Arizona Governor Doug Ducey. "Pfc. Garcia had taken an oath to defend our nation. He served honorably, and will be remembered for his commitment to duty and willingness to serve."

Gov. Ducey also expressed his "sincerest condolences" to his family and loved ones.
