YCAT Employee Tests Positive For COVID-19, Sanitation Efforts Underway

Yuma County Area Transit

An employee that works at the Yuma County Area Transit (YCAT) has tested positive for COVID-19 but it isn't confirmed that the exposure happened while on duty, YCAT said.

The transportation agency said the employee's last day at work was May 30 and that all guidelines set forth by the Yuma County Health District and the Centers for Disease Control are being followed. That includes notifying all employees within the organization and continuing daily sanitation efforts.

All of the buses and bus shelters are sanitized daily, YCAT said.

"The protection of our community and employees is a top priority for YCIPTA/YCAT, while providing a critical service we also must stress the importance of using this service only when absolutely necessary and limit unneeded contact and keeping with the recommended social distancing practices," YCAT said in a statement to the public.
