KAWC's Summer Interns Sign Out

Karen Zamora

KAWC Colorado River Public Media

Public Radio has a longstanding tradition of education—a spirit of knowledge and mentorship that KAWC has  subscribed to since its inception.  In honor of this tradition, KAWC took two fledgling interns under its wing over the 2013 summer: Amma Greenstreet and Karen Zamora.

Amma Greenstreet interned at KAWC between June and mid-July, arriving from England.  Now that she is returning to school, she hopes to continue in student radio before moving up in the radio broadcasting world. Amma enjoyed her time in Yuma and, when she wasn’t in the studio, she was exploring everything Arizona had to offer.

Karen Zamora arrived at KAWC soon after Amma.  She is a senior studying Journalism and Spanish at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.  Karen finished her internship at KAWC in early August and is moving on to an internship in Washington, D.C. with NPR’s All Things Considered

Some of Amma and Karen's hard work is showcased below, in the related content section.  We were happy to have them.
