Gila Ridge High School named finalist in T-Mobile competition

Yuma Union High School District

Gila Ridge High School has been named one of 40 finalists in T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights competition.

According to the Yuma Union High School District, Gila Ridge is now competing for the competition’s $1 million grand prize, which would fund upgrades to the school’s home football field.

But that’s not all. By securing a spot in the top 40, Gila Ridge has already earned $25,000 and a home football game hosted by T-Mobile.

The T-Mobile-hosted game is scheduled for Oct. 23, and the entire Yuma community is invited to attend.

Community members are also encouraged to help Gila Ridge win the $1 million grand prize by voting online in the Friday Night 5G Lights competition.

“Being named a Top 40 finalist is an exciting opportunity for Gila Ridge High School and our entire community,” said Johannah Elliott, Athletic Director, Gila Ridge High School. “Over the past 20 years, Veterans Memorial Stadium has been home to countless outstanding Gila Ridge athletes and athletic programs, while also serving as a valued district facility for Special Olympics and other community events.
