As the July 21 primary election nears, one longtime Yuma resident is preparing to vote for the first time. Her story reflects a fear some Latino immigrants carry even after gaining legal status.

Applications are open for the City of Yuma's new civics education program. The free program will take place from June 2 through July 14.
