Southern Arizona is holding a special election this summer. Gen-Z candidate Deja Foxx spoke with the KAWC Student Newsroom about her experience running in the Democratic primary for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District.

An education town hall hosted at the Comité de Bien Estar in San Luis Wednesday enabled locals to discuss the experiences and challenges many residents share.

CD7 stretches from Douglas through Nogales up to Tucson into parts of Pinal and Maricopa counties and west to Yuma. No questions were asked about Yuma County.

Foxx is the third to announce a run for the southern Arizona seat now vacant after passing of Congressman Raúl Grijalva.
